Careers Fest 26th January 2017

Careers Fest, an event to discover Training and Employment Opportunities for Learners, took place on the evening of 26th January 2017 at The Street, situated in Ground Floor of Epping Forest College.

Despite the travel disruption of tube strike on Central line, the event was a great success attracting over a thousand visitors who came along to discover careers pathways, course progression options and employment / volunteering opportunities.

Visitors enjoyed Interactive, engaging and inspirational demonstrations and talks provided by over 50 exhibitors from Industry, Educational institutions and volunteering organizations.

The Street, Ground floor of the College, was packed with young people and their families moving around the stall-to-stall, engaging with representatives of the exhibitors.

Between 45 – 50 employers and training providers were present and visitors had a quality time to engage with representatives from a range of industries.

EFC learners took time out of lessons with classes teacher’s supervision to attend the event in the evening. Vereen Ryan- Quality, CPD & Tutorial Management and Coordination at Epping Forest College -remarked the evening’s event:

“The level of attendance from our students was excellent and a vast improvement on numbers attending last year. Many of Teaching staff took the time to produce worksheets for students attending the event to complete and this was very encouraging to see. I am sure our students got a lot out of the many conversations they had with the representatives present. I listened in on many of these conversations and we can be proud of the way our students engaged and articulated their interest.”

Careers Fest will come back in January 2018 and we look forward to having you again next year, Thank you very much for your support.
